The Canon EOS C500 Mark II 5.9K Full-Frame Camera Body is a member of the Cinema EOS camera lineup, featuring a full-frame CMOS sensor with an effective resolution of 18.69MP. This sensor enables a 5.9K output in full frame and allows for sensor cropping (windowing) to Super 35 and Super 16 frame sizes while maintaining high resolution. The C500 Mark II is equipped with a Canon EF mount and incorporates an interchangeable lens mount system. This system enables on-the-fly mounting changes, supporting optional Cinema Locking EF or PL mounts, significantly expanding the range of compatible lenses.

With over 15 stops of dynamic range and Dual Pixel autofocus support, the sensor provides exceptional image quality. The camera utilizes a DIG!C DV 7 chip for efficient image processing. Internally, the C500 Mark II records in raw using the Canon Cinema RAW Light codec in 12- or 10-bit, or alternatively, you can opt for the XF-AVC codec in 10-bit. CFexpress cards in the dual card slots handle internal recording, while 8-bit proxy recording in XF-AVC format and JPEGs can be stored on an SD card via the built-in SD card slot.

The camera accommodates various gamma settings, including Canon Log 2 and Log 3, and supports multiple color gamuts such as Cinema BT.2020, DCI-P3, and legacy BT.709. LUT importing is a supported feature. Additionally, the camera allows for four channels of 24-bit, 48 kHz linear PCM audio recording.
